This is a serious subject and ignoring it and its consequences can ruin an event.
What is the point in spending many months training and preparing for an event only to have it ruined by pain due to chafing?
Some advice from William Sichel :
I have tried a range of anti-chafing products and I respect the fact that different skins will react in a range of ways to the same product.
However, from my own experience, by far and away the best anti-chafing product for all body areas (not feet) I have used is the “2Toms Sport Shield” silicon roll-on. Also available in towelette form as well.
Available by mail order from the USA and with very reasonable postage to the UK/Europe from ZombieRunners in the USA.
Second choice would be a silicon-based cream called SportsLick which also contains antiseptic ingredients so helps to heal you as you go. SportsLick is available in the UK by mail order (in small tubes) or from ZombieRunners in the USA for large tubes or towelettes.
Always try products out in training first in case of allergy or unexpected outcomes.Tweet this!
