Eccentric Calf Raises are an effective way of strengthening both the musculature of the calves and the Achilles tendons.
Eccentric Calf Raises have been shown to be highly as effective at preventing and/or treating the majority of types of Achilles tendon injury – the exercise can often even be as effective as corrective surgery.
When performing this exercise, concentrate on the lowering phase of the movement, slowing the downward motion before raising yourself back up.
