The Shoulder Bridge is useful both as an exercise in its own right and as a preparatory position and/or as a warm-up for more advanced Back Bridge exercises.

Shoulder Bridge - Static Hold

The Shoulder Bridge can either held statically (as a Bridge) or it can be repeated, targeting primarily the core musculature.

The Shoulder Bridge is especially useful as a preparatory position and warm up before attempting a Neck Bridge / Wrestler’s Bridge / Crab. This position allows a person to gain confidence and get used to the feel of a “Bridge” before attempting a more demanding variation.
