R.O.E. Scale
ROE : Rating of Enjoyment
Ratings of Enjoyment (ROE) can be an important indicator of the value of certain training sessions.
Look for cause-effect relationships between your enjoyment level and your performance in training .
Use your observations to modify your training in ways that make it more fun and effective.
Rate your sessions as follows:
- Rating 1 = On balance, you didn’t enjoy it
- Rating 2 = You neither enjoyed it or nor hated it
- Rating 3 = On balance, the training was enjoyable
In your training diary do also record any obvious reasons for your ratings e.g. if you loathed a particular run not because of the nature of the running but because it took place at completely the wrong time of day or because there was freezing rain (etc), make a note of this to help clarify things for the future.
Do record positives as well as negatives! If you loved a session for a particular reason, make a note of this too.
